Privacy policy

The short version

Whatever you paste into a tool on this site stays in your browser. It is not sent to us, not logged, and not stored. There are no accounts and no tracking cookies. The only exceptions are the networking tools, described below, and they are labelled on the page itself.

Tool input

Almost every tool here runs entirely as JavaScript in your browser. The text you type or paste is processed on your own device and never transmitted. You can verify this: open your browser's network inspector and use any tool — no request is made.

Because nothing is transmitted, we have nothing to retain, disclose, or lose in a breach.

The networking exception

DNS, WHOIS and similar lookups cannot work without contacting a server. Where a tool needs to do that, the page carries a visible notice saying so before you use it.

For those tools:

  • Your query (a domain name or IP address) is sent to our server.
  • It is forwarded to a public resolver or registry — Cloudflare DNS, or the relevant RDAP service — and the answer is returned to you.
  • Queries are not written to any log we keep, and are not associated with you.
  • Responses may be cached briefly at the edge to reduce repeat lookups.

Share links

Some tools offer a "Share link" button. It puts your input into the part of the URL after the #, which browsers never send to a server — so we never receive it, even when the link is opened.

It is still contained in the link itself. Anyone you send that link to can read the input, and it will appear in your browser history. Tools whose input is likely to be a secret — hashing, JWT decoding, password generation — do not offer share links at all.

What is stored on your device

This site writes exactly two values to localStorage, both readable only by your own browser:

  • lardr:theme — whether you chose the light or dark theme.
  • lardr:consent — your advertising choice, once advertising exists.

Clearing your browser data removes both. Neither identifies you.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not build a profile across sites. We see aggregate numbers — which pages are visited, roughly where in the world from — and nothing that identifies an individual.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As with any web host, Cloudflare processes the requests needed to deliver pages to you and keeps short-lived operational logs for security and abuse prevention. This is standard infrastructure logging, outside our control, and is covered by Cloudflare's own privacy policy.

Advertising

There is currently no advertising on this site. If that changes, this policy will be updated before any ad is served, and this section will name the network, say what it collects, and explain how to change your choice.

Should we use a network that sets cookies or uses data for personalised advertising, you will be asked for consent first, no ad script will load until you answer, and a link in the footer will let you change your answer at any time.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and laws such as the CCPA/CPRA you have rights to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, and to object to its processing.

In practice we hold no personal data about you, so there is generally nothing to access or delete. We do not sell or share personal information, and never have. If you want to exercise a right or simply ask what we hold, contact us and we will respond.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will be updated. Changes that affect how your data is handled will be described plainly rather than buried.
